Define and direct national core Transmission Infrastructure, Capacity and Redundancy Planning (Blaze fiber, ASON/DWDM, SDH Network plans) to support MTNN rollout.

Design and direct implementation of cost effective and efficient transmission topology systems to support GSM rollout

Responsible for overall capacity shaping and management for Inter-MSC, MSC to BSC voice/data traffic and Leased Lines.

Ensure that Transmission core network topology, capacity and infrastructure are designed to achieve the quality and performance KPIs as well as the marketing and sales targets as defined by the Business.

Monitor processes and procedures to ensure conformance to best practices and to identify opportunities for improvements

Ensure network performance and optimization input is reflected in new designs & configuration to ensure conformance with performance strategy and KPIs

Review and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on national transmission planning activities to the Senior Manager Transmission.

Assist in technology evaluation and equipment forecast and ensure adequate tools and resources are available for transmission core planning activities

Drive and ensure the timely provision of transmission, core capacity and infrastructure and other dependencies to support the nominal network rollout objectives.

Ensure that there is proper documentation of core transmission planning projects, and that Access to Core integration procedures are provided and effectively communicated across all regions

Ensure/Maintain 100% accurate and thorough knowledge/configurations/database records of the national transmission core network capacity and infrastructure at all times

Ensure that adequate knowledge of competitor’s activities and competitive environment is maintained and provided to HQ whenever required.

Manage the provision of technical support to all other department regarding the network planning, rollout and general transmission core related problems
